I had always thought real estate investing had great potential, but aside from a couple of buildings for my business I had no experience with buying properties until I attended a seminar Mike Summey presented in Charlotte, NC. He really got me thinking. When I heard about his childhood and what he overcame to get to where he is today, it was truly unbelievable.

I purchased the Weekend Millionaire books and CDs at that seminar and started reading and listening to them every chance I got. After reading the books about a dozen times a piece and listening to the CDs until I fully grasped every little piece of information, I found that I could venture out and start looking for homes and be very comfortable. To me the most valuable product is the CD program which lets me listen to what I’m supposed to be doing while I’m out driving around looking for deals. Once I understood the concepts, I found my confidence soared.

Now I’m 8 properties ahead in less than a year and not afraid at all to walk up and talk with a property seller about what his or her home is worth to me. Above all, I have the wherewithal to make a deal in short order. My goal is to purchase correctly 12 properties (single families) a year for the next 8 years. I figure I can be financially independent in about 5 years.

The first step is always the hardest and mine was too, but now it’s like a game. I really enjoy it. What a hobby! I have even started sharing what I have learned with others and it gives me a great feeling to show someone else what to look for and to help them get their first property.

Working the Weekend Millionaire system has brought me success, but it has also kept me humble when I see how the 9 to 5 folks live and think. I try to encourage my friends, but a lot of them are skeptical. Even when I share the what, why and how of investing some still don’t think they can do it, but if I can get them to study the Weekend Millionaire program they find it is really is simple enough that anyone can do it.
